O
h, what a night it was! After the noisy farewell dinner with everyone who had become close to us, we stayed alone and enjoyed our closeness. We inhaled the fresh aroma of spring, which was mixed with the bitter taste of our parting. It was so quiet that we could almost hear the grass breathing in its sleep and the tiny leaves whispering to one another.
The shadows of the night didnât look as dark as they used to. With every passing hour, they kept filling up with light until they disappeared completely. It almost seemed they didnât want to disturb us or the approaching morning.
But the dawn was still not that close. The smell of some mysterious flowers that only bloom at night but are not visible during the day increased in power and mixed with the more familiar smells of nearby trees and cold water. Everything seemed so confusing, mysterious, beautiful, and simple. But at the same time, something solemn quivered in the air. We were surrounded not only by life and beauty, but by the smells and colours of life itself, and we felt that our future was still ahead of us.
The cheerful voices of the awakening birds told us that a miracle was waiting for us. In moments like these, I feel sorry for those who were never in love in the early years of their lives or who were loved with restraint, never learning the sweetness of pure desire.
We didnât even think of sleeping. Oh, no! We went out into the darkness that was briefly interrupted by the sounds of the night and walked to all the places that held meaning to our love. The wine diluted our sadness, and at times it even made us laugh loud enough to keep back the tears of despair. Old memories kept resurfacing, and when one of us asked, âDo you remember?â the other one immediately replied, âYes!â And we just kept remembering and recalling, trying to bring back the sweetest memories.
The peaceful glimmer of the moonless sky, the enchanting pull of the old places, the quivering spring air, and the joyful barks of Pilot, who refused to leave our sidesâit all filled our souls with endless happiness. We went back to the house and surrendered ourselves to the last night of love. Oh, and what a night it was! These memories are still very clear and make me shiver. Roman was always so loving and tender. He never prepared or planned our moments of closeness (as it sometimes happens in a different kind of relationship). They seemed to naturally flow out of his magnificent soul. Slowly and gently, like the light of the waking sun, he unfolded his desire. When he saw how brightly the fire burned in my eyes and how my body reached for his, he let the gentle spring of our love turn into a stormy ocean of desire. No matter how strongly the storm was raging, we were never afraid to drown and drag
